As part of an existing partnership between British Cycling and Wigan Council, we are looking to recruit a part-time Community Developer to lead on cycling initiatives across the town. Based on a flexible work pattern of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, the successful candidate will possess the drive, experience and skills to develop Wigan’s cycling offer with a focus on developing initiatives for families and young people.
Job Responsibility:
Lead on cycling initiatives across the town
Develop Wigan’s cycling offer with a focus on developing initiatives for families and young people
Working across Community and Education settings to develop and implement cycling initiatives
Requirements:
Strong knowledge and understanding of Wigan
Experience of working in a public sector environment
Experience of cycling and/or sport and the associated physical activity delivery
Awareness of current development in cycling in terms of transport, health, and recreational agendas
Track record in partnership working and development
Experience of partnership programme delivery
Good organisational and project coordination skills with experience of being able to prioritise, plan and manage competing demands
Nice to have:
Experience of using social media to promote and engage audiences
