Job Description

The Community Center Associate will be based at one or more Medicare-focused community centers and will provide high-quality customer service to members and seniors in the local community. This role serves as a community-facing representative and plays a key part in building and maintaining a positive organizational reputation. The position is customer-facing with sales-related responsibilities and is driven by a mission to deliver culturally sensitive healthcare solutions to seniors. Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is required to effectively support members and community participants.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide exceptional customer service at assigned community center locations
  • Offer in-language support to members regarding benefits and access to care
  • Serve as a Medicare resource, providing in-language guidance to community members with questions about Medicare options
  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate health and wellness events held at community centers, including logistics and setup
  • Communicate and coordinate general building maintenance or repair needs with the appropriate facilities team
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and promotional or marketing materials
  • Track and monitor visitor traffic and utilization of services
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly and meets quality standards
  • Manage use of center space for classes, activities, and trainings while ensuring cleanliness and safety
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and develop programs and activities that add value to the community
  • Participate in and support member and community events, including outreach events, informational booths, festivals, and cultural or religious gatherings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience
  • At least one (1) year of marketing experience preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit organizations, or senior-focused environments preferred
  • Event planning or coordination experience is a plus
  • Experience working with ethnically diverse populations
  • Active California Life and Health Insurance License required or ability to obtain within two (2) months of hire
  • Bilingual proficiency in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Korean (business-level reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • experience serving senior populations is a plus
  • Ability to present information to both small and large groups
  • Passion for helping seniors better understand and access healthcare options
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to community engagement
  • Positive attitude with the ability to multitask and work independently
