In the home of the Sisters of Mercy the Community Care (CC) Wellness Manager provides the overall management and delivery of health, wellness, and memory care services for the Sisters of Mercy to support and sustain optimum quality of life. The CC Wellness Manager possesses a positive attitude and a spirit of hospitality that embodies the charism of the Sisters of Mercy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides the overall management and delivery of health, wellness, and memory care services for the Sisters of Mercy
  • Responsible for the 24-hour, 7 day a week delivery, coordination and monitoring of wellness, memory care and ElderONE services
  • Be available for emergencies and staff concerns
  • Work collaboratively with CC Wellness Collaborator, CC Wellness Assistant, CC Advocates, CC Activity Coordinator, CC Episodic Case Manager, Pastoral Care, Sister Life Ministers (SLM) and the ElderONE Interdisciplinary Team
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all policies, procedures, protocols and formulate new ones when necessary
  • Plan and monitor the CC department budget
  • Participate in and attend educational programs to maintain current knowledge
  • Maintain regular communication with the sisters
  • Ensure the development of therapeutic groups
  • Communicate and collaborate with the SLM, Mercy Center House Coordinator, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Food Service supervisors/managers
  • Ensure the designated SLM, family and other appropriate persons are notified of any significant changes in a sister’s health
  • Communicate regularly with ElderONE
  • Promote sensitive and accurate verbal and written communication
  • Provide ongoing formal and informal dementia training and coach staff and volunteers
  • Educate and support loved ones and community members
  • Plan, direct and manage CC Wellness Collaborator, CC Wellness Assistant, Advocates, and CC Activity Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the CC Episodic Case Manager for sisters not enrolled in ElderONE
  • Conduct CC department, and interdepartmental meetings regularly
  • Collaborate regularly with ElderONE and other out-sourced services
  • Provide/ensure the provision of ongoing education programs for sisters and staff
  • In conjunction with Human Resources: interview, employ, discipline, and terminate CC staff when necessary

Requirements:

  • MS, BS or the equivalent in Human Services and Management
  • Minimum of 5 years Management and Administrative experience
  • Experience in the field of Gerontology, Memory Care and End of Life Issues
  • Excellent people skills to promote physical, psychological-social, emotional, and spiritual well-being
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships with a broad range of employees and external contacts
  • Strong management, organization, and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to assess, plan and execute programs
  • Solid computer skills – Proficient in Accessing the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Willingness to consider the advice and opinions of others
  • Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the consequences
