Job Description:

Supporting individuals one-on-one to achieve their goals both in their homes and within the community. Based out of our local Support Centre as part of a team of 30 Support Workers. Offers a positive, varied, and supportive team environment where every day brings new challenges and the opportunity to work with multiple different people over your workday.

Job Responsibility:

  • Building rapport and positive relationships with the people we support
  • Working alongside individuals to achieve their goals
  • Supporting people to access the local community and build their support network
  • Completing competency-based trainings to enhance skills and qualifications
  • Participating in regular shifts, including one weekend day, with set hours and two permanent consecutive days off per week
  • Completing administration tasks relating to support

Requirements:

  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete one at our cost)
  • Hold a FULL current NZ Driver License (Essential)
  • Be legally eligible to work in New Zealand
  • Have a valid work visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry

  • Assist meeting personal care needs (eating, toileting, bathing, dealing with incontinence, shopping, household tasks)
  • Maintain and encourage physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs using a person-centred approach
  • Create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, family, friends, stakeholders
  • Actively support other Care Workers
  • Work flexibly and cover sessions, leave, sick leave etc. as needed
