Responsible for performing routine plant maintenance, troubleshooting calls, surveys, locates, outage repair, track and repair Cumulative Leakage Index (CLI), power supply maintenance and construction maintenance in accordance with Company procedures and practices. Will be called upon to troubleshoot and resolve service failures related but not limited to Company services such as Video (analog and digital,) Comcast Digital Voice (CDV,) and Comcast High Speed Data (CHSI) inclusive of Home Networking and Home Plug.
Power supply maintenance and construction maintenance
Troubleshoot and resolve service failures for Video, Comcast Digital Voice (CDV), and Comcast High Speed Data (CHSI) inclusive of Home Networking and Home Plug
Isolate and resolve fiber optic signal impairments for Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) networks
Perform construction maintenance duties such as splicing aerial/underground coaxial cable and equipment
Respond to damage scenarios and initiate fixes
Perform CLI ride-out and track and repair leakage
Respond to and repair service interruptions during regular business hours, shift work or when On-calls as required
Drive company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
Work and travel in inclement weather
Complete required training in accordance with Company standards
Requirements:
Minimum of twelve months cable telecommunications, broadband, or similar experience
Must possess a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record
High School Diploma / GED
7-10 Years relevant work experience
Ability to troubleshoot on analog and digital optics
Ability to isolate and resolve fiber optic signal impairments
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and various state and local codes including G.O. 95 and G.O. 128, (when applicable)
Ability to climb ladders and operate aerial lifts up to 34 feet above ground
Ability to lift and carry loads of 70 lbs. or more
