We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your skills and experience to design, develop, and produce a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the client.
Job Responsibility:
Provide expertise to support the client in the performance of duties, including addressing a wide range of public affairs issues supporting and affecting achievement of the client mission proactively
Coordinate across the staff to ensure the intent, messages, and themes for the client, subordinate, and partner organizations are synchronized, harmonized, clear, and consistent
Apply expertise as the speechwriter to research, write, and edit a variety of materials, including speeches, presentations, briefs, reports, editorials, congressional testimony, blog posts, and other products
Conduct coordination and integration across client directorates and subordinate commands to gather, develop, and check the accuracy of information
Prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts
Establish and maintain an electronic product repository of speeches and related information
Ensure that written materials are commensurate with the level and authority of the target audience
Provide analysis as the client prepares Congressional testimony, written products, and information papers
Requirements:
Experience researching, writing, and editing a variety of materials, including speeches, presentations, briefs, reports, editorials, congressional testimony, and blog posts
Knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications
Ability to prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts, culling information from a number of sources
Ability to perform detail-oriented work
Active TS/SCI clearance
willingness to take a polygraph exam
HS diploma or GED and 11+ years of experience with communications, speech writing, or public affairs, or Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience with communications, speech writing, or public affairs
Nice to have:
Ability to provide a writing sample
