David Zwirner is looking for a highly motivated Communications and Photography Intern to join our Internship Program at our London gallery. The ideal candidate is passionate and interested in the arts/larger creative arena or eager to learn. We welcome all individuals entering the workforce, those moving into a new stage of their career or vocation, making a change, returning to work, and those wanting to learn and grow within the industry, to apply.

Job Responsibility:

  • Creating press clippings from online and print sources
  • Logging weekly arts coverage in national newspapers
  • Finding gallery and artist mentions and coverage in publications
  • Assisting with creation and updating of press reports
  • Sourcing relevant print publications
  • Researching publications and journalists for future opportunities
  • Assisting with communications marketing initiatives
  • Posting books or packages to external PR clients & journalists
  • Assisting at press previews, artist book signings, tours/talks, and other events
  • Assisting in moving press archive offsite
  • Resizing, manipulating, and preparing images for server and database use
  • Taking images with DSLR camera for social media or archival purposes
  • Assisting with image editing and rendering creation
  • Assisting with printing requests for sales purposes
  • Updating artwork records with incoming imagery
  • Providing AV documentation support during walkthroughs and events
  • Assisting with book inventory management
  • Supporting maintenance, organisation, and inventory of gallery library
  • Assisting with research and acquisition of books for upcoming exhibitions
  • Packing and transporting books and archival materials
  • Assisting with book displays, publication launches, and sales viewings
  • Supporting David Zwirner Books with ongoing projects

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize and anticipate needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work cross-departmentally
  • Passion for and knowledge of contemporary art
  • Ability to confidently operate a DSLR camera
  • Awareness and interest in top arts publications and journalists
  • Organisational skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
