Job Description

At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Vodafone Ireland's integrated external reputation strategy across PR, communications and public affairs, ensuring a clear and consistent narrative across media, policymakers, partners, customers and the wider public
  • Bring together proactive storytelling, stakeholder engagement and issues management to position Vodafone as a credible and trusted voice on key economic, societal, regulatory and industry topics
  • Define and deliver a joined-up communications, PR and public affairs strategy aligned to business, policy and corporate priorities, translating complex technical, regulatory and commercial issues into clear, compelling external messaging
  • Own the annual reputation plan, bringing together campaigns, policy communications and media engagement into a single, coherent approach
  • Shape how Vodafone's policy positions and advocacy priorities are communicated externally working closely with Public Affairs colleagues
  • Support engagement with policymakers, regulators, industry bodies and opinion formers through well-developed briefings, messaging and content
  • Advise on public sentiment, reputational risk and how external stakeholders are likely to respond to key issues
  • Design and deliver proactive PR and communications campaigns that build Vodafone's profile, working with agencies and partners to deliver earned media, thought leadership and influencer activity
  • Identify and develop high-impact hero stories that strengthen Vodafone's reputation across areas such as ESG, innovation, connectivity and wider societal impact
  • Retain accountability for national and regional media relationships, managing reactive media queries with confidence and clarity
  • Lead issues and crisis communications in close coordination with Public Affairs and senior leadership
  • Oversee the development of high-quality content across channels, including press releases, speeches, LinkedIn, briefing notes and reports
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on external narrative, stakeholder communications and reputational risk
  • Measure and report on the impact of PR, communications and public affairs activity

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience across Public Relations, Public Affairs or corporate reputation management (media experience alone is not sufficient)
  • Strong understanding of the policy, regulatory or public affairs environment and how communications influence stakeholders
  • Experience delivering proactive PR and communications campaigns
  • Ability to navigate complexity across government, regulators, media and public sentiment, balancing opportunities and risks
  • Strong judgement in managing reputational risk and external stakeholder expectations
  • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging external communications
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and providing trusted communications advice

  • A competitive package including salary, bonus and a strong pension to support you now and long-term
  • €1050 flexible benefits allowance, plus access to comprehensive health and wellbeing support
  • Access to our on-site wellness centre and gym, alongside a wider wellbeing programme
  • Free mobile plan, device offers and exclusive discounts for you, your family and friends
  • Market-leading family policies and flexibility to support you at every stage of life
  • Real opportunities for career growth through learning, development and internal progression
