The Communications Officer will play a vital role in delivering TPO’s Communications and Engagement Strategy. Our key aim is to share good practice and learning from our work to drive improvements across the sector. This will build the reputation of TPO and ensure that the right complaints come to us. TPO’s Corporate Services teams provide support on all business communications and engagement matters. This role forms part of a small, collaborative and high achieving Communications Engagement and Insight team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will create and deliver high-quality communications across multiple channels. Your work will include managing media relations, overseeing day-to-day digital communications and social media, updating and optimising website content, producing marketing and campaign materials, managing communications projects, and supporting events. You will be a part of a broader, successful and friendly Corporate Services Directorate that includes HR, Digital, Data and Technology and Finance.
Job Responsibility:
Input into the development of communication plans and creative solutions to achieve the organisation’s goals
Developing engaging written and visual content for TPO channels and our website
Implement evidence-based social media activity, focusing on optimisation, engagement and impact
Lead on web content management and the development of future improvements working closely with our web hosting and development agency
Make best use of data to identify opportunities, deliver continuous improvement and provide visibility regarding performance of our content to our Executive
Support the communications manager with proactive Media Handling, drafting proactive press releases that are clear and compelling
Provide reactive management for Media and Press activity, monitoring for reputational risks and breaking stories and drafting press responses in line with our messaging approach
Support the team in delivering a calendar of virtual, hybrid and in person internal and external events
Work with the team and broader organisation in developing engaging presentation assets for our events
Support the team with management of the intranet as our key internal comms channel
Ensure all communication outputs are accessible and compliant with equalities legislation and best practice
Any other reasonable duties as required
Requirements:
Right to work in the UK
Prepared to be security cleared to Baseline Personnel Security Standard
Basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service
