We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join CSIRO’s Leadership and Internal Communications team. This team coordinates the flow of information, corporate messaging and advice to CSIRO’s people, and provides communications support to members of the Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you’ll work on campaigns and content aimed at driving engagement across a variety of internal platforms. You’ll support the delivery of communication activities for strategic internal events and major change programs, helping to ensure clear, timely and effective messaging across the organisation.
Job Responsibility:
Undertaking a range of activities that support effective communication and the dissemination of information, under limited supervision
In consultation with your line manager, providing advice on the optimal use of CSIRO’s internal communication channels
Delivering effective communication outcomes by applying sound judgment and contemporary communication skills
Developing high‑quality written materials that convey CSIRO’s narrative, including the development of appropriate messaging platforms
Developing tactics to deliver compelling messages to staff about CSIRO's strategy, with a focus on simplicity and return on investment
Supporting enterprise‑wide internal communication channels, ensuring alignment with CSIRO messaging, while staying abreast of industry best practice and technology
Requirements:
Relevant bachelor’s degree (Communications, Media & Journalism, Public Relations, Social Media, Marketing or similar)
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written communication
Strong commitment to team-based processes and outcomes, with an ability to work collaboratively and independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail and quality, and operate well in an often complex, ambiguous and fast-moving environment
The ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with stakeholders that help to achieve positive outcomes
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in geographically dispersed teams, as well as independently, supporting projects and team members as organisational priorities change
