Job Description

The Xbox team is seeking an experienced Communications Manager for Xbox to support DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the wider Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, including Poland. As part of the Microsoft Global Communications team, you will join a group of professionals focused on telling the stories that help people fall in love with Xbox games, Xbox services & devices, and the positive impact Xbox gaming will have in the world. You will report to the regional comms lead for EMEA, be an integral part of the Xbox EMEA comms team and be a trusted advisor to the broader Microsoft communications team as well as the local Xbox marketing and sales teams. In this position, you will be responsible for crafting and delivering storytelling narratives that showcase the Xbox gaming business, with the aim of driving greater adoption of Xbox's gaming products and services throughout DACH and the CEE region. Your communication strategies will drive consumer excitement and establish thought leadership, elevating Xbox's profile in these key markets. You will lead the development and execution of bold, creative communication campaigns whilst also proactively anticipating and mitigating potential reputational risks as they arise to protect the Xbox brand. Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate with global and EMEA communications leaders on the strategic development of communications materials and define and execute tactics across the region in support of the overall strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with priority media and creators and actively manage media relations, including identifying new outlets
  • Develop, review, and edit content for internal and external audiences, including executive briefing materials, media engagements and PR driven events
  • Lead and direct two agency teams for the region, leveraging local expertise and knowledge
  • Develop and drive storytelling opportunities in fresh ways that generate positive perceptions towards Microsoft gaming in Germany and CEE, based on informed knowledge of the local media and content creator landscape as well as data and insights
  • Develop content to support, educate and advise internal stakeholders, including Microsoft Gaming Regional Marketing and Sales colleagues, on communications strategy and tactics
  • Anticipate and mitigate factors that impact reputation in the market and address potential reputational risk
  • Collaborate with the EMEA Xbox Communications Lead on annual budget development, planning and agency scope resourcing
  • Collaborate with gaming industry associations such as GAME to respond to cultural and societal topics which impact the perception of gaming

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND substantial communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience
