Valvoline™ Global Operations (“VGO”) is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Global Corporate Communications Intern to support the Global Corporate Communications team, with a focus on earned media / public relations, during the 2026 summer term. This role provides hands-on experience supporting a broad range of global initiatives spanning internal and external communications – all helping to shape and protect Valvoline’s iconic brand and organizational reputation. This internship is ideal for a student interested in how strategic communications skills are leveraged in a global organization through strategic external messaging, and brand storytelling. The Global Corporate Communications Intern will support high-profile initiatives including Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ race season activation, the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup activation, global product launches and PR process development. While this role will primarily support global earned media efforts, there will be opportunities to contribute to internal and corporate social responsibility communications initiatives. *This is a 12 week on-site internship from May-August and will need to sit in Lexington, KY*
Job Responsibility:
Support the global earned media team with day-to-day public relations and media relations activities, including agency collaboration, media monitoring, coverage tracking/reporting
Assist in the creation of external messaging materials including press releases, briefing documents and key messaging documents
Brainstorm alongside Global Corporate Communications leaders to maximize impact of key external brand campaigns
Partner with colleagues across functions, regions and business units to execute integrated communications efforts with excellence
Lead the development of corporate messaging documentation for benchmarking across the global organization
Support deployment of key messaging across multiple channels including web and social media
Drafting and editing internal communications including intranet and employee email content
Assist in planning internal large-scale employee events, helping to further employee engagement efforts
Support the development of presentations, talking points, and communication materials for leadership
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a critical eye for tone, clarity and brand voice
Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Creative mindset with an interest in brand storytelling
Collaborative, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take initiative
Ability to work on-site at VGO’s Lexington, KY headquarters four days a week (M-Th.) with occasional availability to join calls with global partners outside of the Eastern time zone
