Job Description:

Kansas State University Salina seeks a 9-month term Communications Instructor beginning Fall 2026. The Department of Integrated Studies seeks an individual passionate about teaching introductory speech courses to undergraduate students. K-State Salina recognizes that quality communication is a foundational life skill. The individual selected for this role will have the opportunity to mentor the communication growth of students both inside and outside of the classroom. As a teaching focused campus, the use of and experimentation with high impact practices are encouraged and supported through a dedication to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach introductory speech courses to undergraduate students
  • Mentor the communication growth of students both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Use of and experimentation with high impact practices
  • Engage in campus community and be present on-site
  • Teach in-person classes

Requirements:

  • Master’s in communications studies or related discipline upon start of position or before August 2026
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Nice to have:

  • Teaching experience in communications studies
  • experience as a graduate teaching assistant satisfies this requirement

  • Help in the generation of new clients and promoting the range of services available

  • Assist with practical demonstrations and equipment sales events
