Job Description:

As part of the APAC team, the job holder leads external communications activities for all divisions in Southeast Asia, in support of business campaigns and corporate priorities. The job holder will be responsible for managing relations with the media in the markets covered, liaising with Communications teams at customers, content production for Airbus channels and organisation of local events, all with the support of PR agencies. The markets covered are: Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage relations with the media in the markets covered
  • Act as point of contact (POC) for communication teams at customers
  • Produce and post written / visual content for Airbus channels, including for employee Hub
  • Organise events taking place in markets covered including product-related briefings, product demos and public engagements by management outreach events, including speeches
  • Manage contracts with local PR agencies / suppliers for Communication activities
  • Manage communications around crisis and special situations in the region in / with the support of Airbus’ global communications organization
  • Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company, including at HQ in Europe
  • Regular support for Singapore-based Head of Region, Business Unit (BU) leaders and Airbus Chief Representatives (ACRs) in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
  • Speeches and participation at public events, as well as social media posts
  • Support APAC Head of (HO) Comms with contributions to departmental collateral materials and dashboard reports
  • Ensure all local activities are entered in timely and accurate manner in global Communications Planning
  • Participate in regular team calls

Requirements:

  • Degree level, preferably in mass communications, journalism or in the arts
  • Extensive journalistic experience and / or previous communications role, preferably within the aviation industry
  • Familiarity with the markets to be covered (Southeast Asia)
  • Ability to work within multi-cultural and international environment
  • Proven written skills
  • Experience operating corporate social media platforms
  • Well rounded Communications experience (strategy, media relations, social media, writing, content creation, brand and advertising, event management, internal communications)
  • Self-starter with a personable disposition
  • Willingness to take responsibility for driving local activities
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to unpredictable schedules
  • Ability to answer media questions in timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to interact with confidence with Airbus senior management and customers
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Must be available to travel regularly in markets covered as well as to head office facilities in Europe from time to time
  • Operating CRM & publication tools & processes effectively (e.g., Salesforce, Drupal, Keepeek)
