Job Description

The individual selected for this position will be responsible for providing internal communications counsel and support to key business leaders within the organization, ensuring that internal communications strategies are appropriately leveraged to help those functions achieve business objectives. These objectives will largely be in support of improving our customer and team member experiences and delivering our corporate strategy.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that will enable the success of key business initiatives within their internal client's functions
  • Provide communications counsel to relevant functional areas and business leaders
  • Identify and contribute relevant data from the internal client's function to the broader communications team to support the Communications team's data strategy
  • Develop strategic partnerships within the internal client and broader Meijer organization to enhance integration, improve quality and drive support for communication programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a business related field
  • Minimum seven years of communications experience in a corporate or agency setting
  • Experience providing communications counsel to team members at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Experience developing, implementing and measuring communications plans involving a variety of traditional and contemporary tactics
  • Exceptional fundamental communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, link strategies to communications campaigns, deliver results and adjust plans as appropriate
  • Collaborative work style
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide counsel to team members at all levels, including senior leadership
