We're looking for a communications professional to join our team as Communications Associate in India. Based in Gurgaon, the role will report to the Director of Communications, India & South Asia. This role will support storytelling, media engagement, and campaign execution across one of Uber's most dynamic and fast-growing markets. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of brand, product, and consumer communication helping shape how Uber shows up in press and public conversation. Beyond traditional media relations, we're looking for someone with strong social and content instincts - someone who can spot cultural moments, contribute to content ideas, and help translate Uber's narratives into formats that resonate across digital and social platforms. As part of India Comms team you will work with various cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, consistent, and high-quality communications.
Job Responsibility
Support the execution of proactive and reactive brand and consumer communications
Help craft press materials including press releases, media notes, Q&As, and briefing documents aligned with Uber's voice
Contribute to content ideation and creation, bringing a strong understanding of social and digital platforms to help shape how stories are told and shared
Engage with media on a day-to-day basis, supporting inquiries and building relationships with key journalists
Track news cycles, monitor media coverage, and identify opportunities to insert Uber into relevant conversations
Partner with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across earned, owned, and social channels
Support events, launches, and activations - from planning through execution, including content amplification
Assist in managing issues and reactive communications with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment
Requirements
Prior experience in public relations/journalism, PR (5-7 years preferred)
Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
Strong social and content instincts, with an understanding of what resonates across digital platforms
Nice to have
Sound understanding of India's media landscape, news cycles, and cultural context
Demonstrated experience in content creation - whether social media, digital campaigns, or storytelling formats beyond traditional PR
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously through attention to detail and strong execution skills
