From managing media relationships to driving internal communications and leading our community engagement programme, we work across the business and with local and central government to help tell the stories that matter. Due to an internal promotion, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Advisor to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Internal Communications Manager to craft engaging content and support a wide range of initiatives. It’s a role with real variety, exposure to many parts of the organisation, and plenty of room to develop your skills.
Job Responsibility:
Write compelling, accurate, inspiring content for news stories, workplace posts, SharePoint sites and other channels
Create (film and edit) creative, on brand, and security aligned video content for external (such as social media) and internal audiences
Work with external creative agencies to plan, prepare and deliver creative video content for external audiences such as to accompany media press releases
Communications initiatives that build our team member’s connection to strategy
Cultural transformation through supporting internal communications which educate, engage, and inspire
Accuracy and reliability of communication channels (e.g intranet, newsletters)
Events and initiatives eg: engagement champions, recognition programme, internal communications for the operations team
Community engagement, helping the development of our community relationships and supporting us to achieve our sustainability and volunteering targets
Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or a related field
Up to two years’ experience working in communications, or a keen interest to start your career in communications as a fresh graduate
To be at ease working in a dynamic, complex environment where change is constant and be eager to be always learning
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
To be organised, forward-looking and thinking, with loads of initiative and a passion for rolling your sleeves up and getting on with it
Video creation and editing skills with an ability and the confidence to plan, liaise and execute the video strategy with the respective stakeholders within the business
