A Communication Technician 3 is responsible for the Installation, Planning, Organizing and Scheduling of communications cabling and equipment to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, assuring the work is being installed in a high-quality manner and performing quality inspections.

Have knowledge of and understand the safe use of hand tools and various power tools
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Follow Safety Policies and Procedures
Actively Participate in Daily Safety and Work briefings
Monitors task completion, compliance and prevents safety issues
Oversees a crew of five (5) or more technicians and apprentices
Install various types of Low Voltage Cable
Install, inspect, terminate, test, and troubleshoot ISP/OSP telecommunications systems
Survey and document existing telecommunications infrastructure
Sketch rack elevations, floor, and wall elevations
Participate in design document reviews
Install, power up and connect fiber uplinks of network equipment
Calculate grounding conductor, conduit sizing and raceways layouts
Produce 4 week look ahead plans
Train and supervise apprentices
Maintain accurate as built drawings
Perform quality assurance checks
Maintain a clean work area
Secure company tools and materials daily
Requirements:
6+ years prior experience in commercial communications industry
18 years of age
High School diploma or GED is required
Must have an excellent safety record, a valid driver's license, and clean driving record
Successfully pass a background check and drug test
Have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
Demonstrated experience and ability to read and understanding plans and specifications
Strong communications, time management and organization skills
Consistently report to work on time
Wear long pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders by six (6) inches
Provide basic tools from provided tool list prior to 1st day of employment
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance
Works at various heights up to 60 feet
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools
