Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Communication Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This position involves creating compelling content, managing social media strategies, and supporting digital communication efforts for a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing skills, creativity, and experience with digital tools to enhance communication initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and publish engaging content for various social media platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Maintain and update the WordPress website with accurate and timely information
Write and share blog articles that resonate with target audiences
Plan and schedule social media campaigns using Hootsuite to maximize reach
Design visual content using Canva to complement written materials
Assist the Communications Director in executing broader communication strategies
Use tools like WordPress, Canva, and Hootsuite to streamline content creation and distribution
Monitor and analyze social media performance to identify areas for improvement

Requirements:

Proven experience in communications, marketing, or digital content creation, with a portfolio of successful projects
Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities that engage diverse audiences
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for organic content
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively
Familiarity with tools such as WordPress, Canva, and Hootsuite

Nice to have:

Experience in designing newsletters, including layout and content creation
Previous experience working with non-profit or regional organizations
Basic graphic design skills
