We are looking for a skilled Communication Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves developing engaging content, managing social media strategies, and supporting various communication initiatives for a non-profit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Job Responsibility:
Craft and publish compelling content for organic social media campaigns across various platforms
Manage and update the organization's website using WordPress, ensuring content remains fresh and relevant
Write and share articles for the blog to enhance audience engagement
Plan and schedule social media campaigns using Loomly to maximize reach and effectiveness
Design eye-catching visuals using InDesign to complement written content
Collaborate with the Communications Director to support broader organizational communication goals
Assist in creating newsletters by developing layouts and copy that resonate with the target audience
Monitor social media performance and suggest improvements based on analytics
Requirements:
5-7 years of experience in Social Media Marketing, InDesign, Loomly, Wordpress, and writing
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills to craft engaging messages
Proficiency in using social media platforms and tools like Loomly
Familiarity with WordPress for website content management
Ability to create visually appealing designs using InDesign and Canva
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently
Experience in producing newsletters, including layout and copywriting
Portfolio submission required to be considered
Nice to have:
Previous experience working with non-profit or regional organizations is a plus
