Job Description

The position is responsible for defined machinings sub-clusters across the full product life cycle, with a strong focus on strategic purchasing activities, supplier performance and close cross-functional cooperation.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsibility within the commodity machinings for a defined sub clusters during the full life cycle of the products (project, serial, after sales)
  • Managing all purchasing activities in alignment with global Machinings strategy as well as in connection with internal stakeholders within the company
  • Daily cross functional collaboration
  • Professional preparation and independent implementation of purchasing negotiations up to the conclusion of the contracts, including framework supply contracts.
  • Supporting the achievement of C-Q-D (Cost-Quality-Delivery) goals in development projects through the early integration of high-performance suppliers
  • Follow up and steering of suppliers performance
  • Observation and analysis of the market

Requirements

  • Completed studies, preferably in the field of business administration / industrial engineering
  • Experience in strategic purchasing as well as in-depth knowledge of contract law
  • Skills and experience in project management, as well as a technical affinity for the field of machinings (milling and turning technology), would be highly appreciated
  • Comprehensive experience in negotiations
  • Confident English language skills
  • Willingness to travel, approx. 15%, mainly in Europe

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to confirm specifications for engineered components and support competitive sourcing decisions
  • Monitor supplier performance, focusing on metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness, and implement improvement strategies
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and drive consolidation efforts to streamline the supply base
  • Participate in daily production planning meetings to align priorities and ensure material availability for production and revenue goals
  • Engage in plant-floor activities, including Gemba walks, to identify demand issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with accounts payable and contribute to cost-control strategies
  • Recommend enhancements to procurement processes and ERP system utilization to improve operational efficiency
  • Support the creation and automation of ERP reports to facilitate informed decision-making
