The Commodity Manager is responsible for maintaining a robust and resilient supply chain by leading sourcing initiatives and effectively managing supplier relationships. This role involves close collaboration with internal and cross-functional stakeholders to capture business requirements, support the development and execution of sourcing strategies across multiple categories, evaluate supply market responses using a total cost of ownership model, and ensure the successful launch of new products as well as the sourcing transition of existing products.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with supply chain, program, engineering, and quality teams to align supply strategy to meet program goals
Assist in monitoring and tracking vendor performance through periodic financial reviews, and product performance
Develop sourcing strategies for existing suppliers across categories, and have the ability to identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers
Analyze spend data/trends to identify and develop overall strategic sourcing initiatives
Identify potential suppliers and conduct thorough assessments to ensure they meet SEDAs quality & capability standards
Conduct RFQs, support cost analysis, and coordinate supplier selection decisions
Drive the assessment of supplier cost, quality, capability, capacity, and financials, in order to orchestrate the selection
Generate summary reports to present cost analysis to management for review and approval
Drive implementation of category strategies which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, supplier selection, and financial analyses
Identify new and/or alternate sources of supply, develop and execute plan to consolidate supply base
Support compliance initiatives plus corporate commodity, logistics, and inventory strategies to achieve synergy across the operation
Support annual cost reductions, proactively manage purchase price variance and lead annual standard cost review
Support goals and objectives for the Supply Chain department that are flowed down by Company Supply Chain Roadmap and Operations objectives
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
MBA preferred, but not essential
CPM or CPSM certification is preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Supply Chain organization and Sourcing role with increasing level of financial responsibility
Strong MS Office skills with advanced knowledge in Excel
Ability to use PowerBI preferred, not mandatory
Effective in using large datasets and presenting of information through PowerPoint
Knowledge and work experience of ERP/MRP systems is a must
SAP experience preferred, not mandatory
