As a Commodity Manager within the Supply Chain organization, you will lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management efforts for High Voltage systems and Wiring. This role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, driving cost savings, and executing long-term commodity strategies that align with company objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components to support both production and development programs
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and supplier collaboration
Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and compliance metrics
Develop and execute commodity strategies that support scalability, innovation, and risk mitigation
Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify and qualify suppliers that meet our approved Supplier Criteria
Manage a portfolio of key suppliers within assigned commodity groups, including but not limited to: Electrical/Electronics, Chassis and Power Electronics
Design, develop, and execute a strategic sourcing vision in close partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams
Lead the RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing processes
develop and maintain procurement strategies, policies, and systems
Negotiate favorable commercial agreements, including pricing, tooling, and engineering services (NRE/EDT)
Serve as the initial point of escalation for commercial issues and claims
resolve challenges efficiently to maintain project momentum
Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Strategy teams to align on scope, product cost, manufacturing technologies, delivery timelines, and quality expectations
Conduct in-depth analysis of direct material spend to identify opportunities for cost optimization and strategic initiatives
Present data-driven recommendations and improvement opportunities to senior leadership
Drive team success by leading through example, empowering team members, and proactively removing roadblocks
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering, ideally within the tech, mobility or automotive industries
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management within relevant commodities or adjacent sectors
Strong understanding of pricing models, cost drivers, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements
experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, or equivalent
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Highly organized and strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive change, and deliver results
Technical knowledge of assigned commodities (e.g., power and wire harnesses systems), associated technologies, and supply market dynamics
Experience in contributing to high-performing procurement teams with a proven track record for results
