Job Responsibility
Responsible for the management of assigned commodities and suppliers including annual price negotiations
Responsible for component and supplier sourcing strategies for assigned product group
Provides cost and quality wise favorable quotations for required materials out of the NAFTA market
Lead supplier selection for the NAFTA region
Perform cost and value analysis in cooperation with other departments, centers and product teams
Cost reduction for new purchased parts and sub-assemblies by early supplier involvement and by working with the respective Customer Team Buyer(s)
Provides support to production with coordination of technical changes of purchased parts and implemetation of economical improvements
Initiates and records cost avoidances during launch timeframe
Responsible for the issuance of RFQ's prior to SOP as well as engineering changes during current production
Support the Customer Team Buyer(s) in the target setting process (defining the target prices as well as commodity implications)
Requirements
Industrial or Mechanical Engineer is a preferred
Purchasing experience 5-7 years on direct production material for Automotive industry (Tier or OEM) for mechanical parts (molding, Stamping, forming, welding)
Experience in stamping processes is mandatory to be considered
