The analyst will work cross-functionally with Sales Operations, Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll to collect, analyze, prepare and pay worldwide sales commission and other variable compensation. The candidates should be detail oriented and have excellent organizational and communication skills, and thrive in a team environment. Depending on the candidate’s experience, this role may be open at a Senior Commissions Analyst level.

Job Responsibility:

  • Liaison to Sales Operations, Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll for all sales variable compensation related activities
  • Support the full cycle compensation process for sales commission and other variable compensation, including documentation, calculation of monthly payout and approval workflow
  • Validate sales data integrated from Salesforce.com for accuracy and consistency with the guidelines as defined in the compensation plan terms and conditions
  • Prepare commission statements for the worldwide sales organization
  • Prepare month end variable compensation accounting accrual journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations including those for prepaid and held commissions balances
  • Prepare reconciliations for amortization schedules per the company policies on ASC 606/340 accounting treatment
  • Model various earned commission scenarios due to complex license agreement terms
  • Interact, research and investigate discrepancies with the sales organization to address inquiries regarding bookings and commissions
  • Provide support for inquiries from internal and external auditors
  • Participate in annual sales incentive plan design, implementation, and testing
  • Ensure Xactly runs smoothly and troubleshoot errors with configuration or reference data
  • Recommend process improvements and assist with design and implementation of internal controls
  • Other duties as required to contribute to the department/company accomplishing its major objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field
  • 2+ years of progressive commission administration and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced computer skills (emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Google sheets) and the ability to adapt to new systems and applications quickly
  • Prior experience with sales compensation management tools like Xactly required
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Netsuite a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to find solutions without specific step-by-step instructions
  • Highly organized and motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects while delivering results in a timely manner
  • Ability to build effective partnerships across teams
  • Skilled at working as a contributing team member and individually on set projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents
