Job Description

The Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 assists in basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision. This entry-level role involves supporting more experienced technicians while gaining foundational knowledge and skills necessary for progression.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in testing and maintenance of site/field equipment
  • Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring
  • Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustments of equipment
  • Assist in field construction inspection to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans
  • Maintain records and report inspection activities
  • Understand and apply basic knowledge of mathematics, engineering measuring devices, and safety procedures (including LOTO)
  • Prep equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead
  • Assist in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE
  • Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs)

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma / GED with two years of experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and training
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record

Nice to have

Vocational school or education training is a plus
