This role is all about making sure new infrastructure and equipment are ready, safe, and approved for operational use. You’ll act as the main link between project teams and operational users, ensuring everything is properly commissioned, compliant, and aligned with organisational rules.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate commissioning activities from design through to handover
Liaise between engineers, contractors, and operational teams
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards
Track progress & report status to leadership
Identify risks (RAIDO) and develop mitigation plans
Maintain accurate commissioning records
Integrate commissioning into project schedules and design phases
Support testing phases like Factory & Harbour Acceptance Trials
Ensure systems are designed to meet operational, safety, and regulatory needs
Work closely with design teams to embed commissioning requirements early
Requirements:
10+ years in a technical role, with experience as a Commissioning Manager (or similar)
Nuclear industry experience (licensed/authorised environments) with strong knowledge of: Risk management
Quality assurance
Commissioning standards
Ability to read and produce technical documents (drawings, reports, specs, plans)
Strong communication skills (written & face-to-face)
Works well independently and in teams
Highly organised, able to manage deadlines across multiple contributors
