We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Udaipur, India. As a Commis, you'll play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring smooth service delivery. Job Responsibility:
Prepare, verify, and organize dishware before and after service shifts
Hand-wash specialized kitchen items and equipment with precision
Restock dishware and supplies across various kitchen stations
Maintain and clean dishwashing equipment and machines
Manage dishwashing operations during service, including soaking, sorting, and organizing utensils
Store and organize dishware and kitchen equipment efficiently
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen facilities, dining areas, and exterior spaces
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment including microwaves, fryers, and other appliances
Sort, empty, and clean waste containers following proper disposal protocols
Prepare food items including cooking, thawing, and weighing ingredients
Wash, prepare, and sanitize fruits and vegetables according to food safety standards
Set up complete workstations with all necessary tools and ingredients
Prepare and plate dishes according to recipe specifications and chef directives
Adapt work pace and priorities based on service volume, special events, and customer needs
Sort and organize linens appropriately
Support and mentor new team members in assigned areas of responsibility
Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills
Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Basic communication skills in English and/or local languages
Commitment to food safety and sanitation protocols
Flexibility with scheduling, including potential weekend and evening shifts
Nice to have:
Previous experience in a kitchen, food service, or hospitality setting
Experience working in high-volume food preparation environments
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and operations
Food Safety Certification or equivalent training
Basic culinary or food handling training
