Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis de Partie (CDP) to join our vibrant kitchen team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This pivotal role supports our chefs in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that delight our guests. Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff in daily food preparation and cooking tasks
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning according to recipes and menu requirements
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen areas
  • Ensure all food is stored correctly and meets quality standards before use
  • Support the kitchen team in plating and presenting dishes to the required standard
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in line with health and safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet service times and customer expectations
  • Contribute to stock control by assisting with deliveries, inventory checks, and waste management
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within catering or hospitality
  • Basic culinary knowledge and familiarity with kitchen operations
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop professionally
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
