Job Responsibility:
Assist the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff in daily food preparation and cooking tasks
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning according to recipes and menu requirements
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen areas
Ensure all food is stored correctly and meets quality standards before use
Support the kitchen team in plating and presenting dishes to the required standard
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in line with health and safety regulations
Work collaboratively with the team to meet service times and customer expectations
Contribute to stock control by assisting with deliveries, inventory checks, and waste management
Participate in training and development activities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within catering or hospitality
Basic culinary knowledge and familiarity with kitchen operations
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable)
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop professionally
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
