At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens (ranked No. 17 in the World’s 50 Best Hotels), we are seeking a dedicated Pastry Commis to join our Kitchen Department for the Season 2026 (minimum 6 or 7 months contract). This role plays a key part in supporting the production of high-quality pastries and desserts that delight our guests and uphold the hotel’s world-class culinary standards.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the preparation and production of all pastry items according to the standards set by the Pastry Chef
Participate in creating and maintaining miseen place levels, produce tasting menus, and contribute to special occasion cakes as required
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients
Maintain the pastry kitchen in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition, following all hygiene and safety guidelines
Use pastry equipment correctly, including mixers, ovens, sheeters, and blenders, while assisting in training staff on their proper use
Work closely with the Pastry Chef, Demi Chef de Partie, and all kitchen colleagues to ensure smooth operations and uphold the highest standards of quality and presentation
Requirements:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Applicants must have European Passport or the legal right to work in Greece
Previous experience in a similar pastry role is an advantage
Knowledge of basic pastry techniques, yeasted products, laminated dough, and basic décor techniques
Fluency in English is essential
Food Service Sanitation certification is an asset
Nice to have:
proficiency in Greek is an advantage
