Job Description:

Commis Chef position at The Westin Perth, part of Marriott International. The role involves preparing fresh ingredients, cooking food according to recipes, ensuring food quality and safety standards, and working within a team environment in a hotel kitchen setting.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner
Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
Work calmly and accurately under pressure
Produce high volume of same dishes for events and conferences
Work cleanly and safely to health and safety standards

Requirements:

Great teamwork skills and attention to detail
Positive outlook and outgoing personality
Previous kitchen experience in a similar role
Qualification in Commercial cookery
Australian Working rights
Ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs
Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time
Professional appearance in a clean uniform
Completion of safety training and certification

Nice to have:

Previous kitchen experience in a similar role
Interest and skill in food provenance, quality produce and seasonality
