Job Description:

Commis Chef position at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast. Responsibilities include food preparation, communication with service staff, and adherence to company policies. Marriott International values inclusion, professionalism, and teamwork.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare special meals or substitute items
Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
Maintain food logs
Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared
Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials
Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock menu items
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards
Prepare cold foods
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
Follow all company and safety policies
Report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe work conditions
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
Move, lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance

Requirements:

Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
At least 3 years of related work experience
No supervisory experience
No license or certification required
