We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Commis Chef to join our professional kitchen team in Goldsmiths. Job Responsibility:
Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision and efficiency
Prepare and maintain mise en place to support smooth kitchen operations during service
Support senior chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes to exacting standards
Maintain exemplary standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene at all times
Follow all food safety, allergen control, and health and safety procedures meticulously
Contribute to special event catering and function support as required
Develop culinary techniques and knowledge under the guidance of experienced kitchen staff
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination during service
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Take responsibility for personal professional development and continuous skill improvement
Requirements:

Nice to have:
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or catering environment

Experience in a high-profile catering, hospitality, or education setting
Basic knife skills and food preparation techniques
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food preparation methods
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practice in professional kitchens is advantageous
