Ayers Rock Resort is searching for a Commis Chef to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks. We are seeking a passionate and Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) qualified individual who is driven and focused with a desire to learn and succeed in a culinary/hospitality career. The highlight of being a Commis Chef here is the opportunity to work with a team of experienced chefs who will mentor and guide you in your culinary career. You will be able to work with fresh, local ingredients, and be involved in creating menus that showcase the flavors of the region.
Job Responsibility
Undertake all kitchen and service duties including cleaning, food preparation, basic cookery, organisation and guest service
Effectively communicate with other members of the kitchen staff during preparation and service
Multitask in a calm and orderly way while carrying out many different orders simultaneously in a brief amount of time
Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
minimum 2 years post apprenticeship experience working in a kitchen team within large restaurants, events, hotels or resorts
A la carte and buffet experience will be highly regarded
HACCP training is advantageous
National Criminal History Check is a mandatory step in the recruitment process
