As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in supporting our kitchen brigade by preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to Marriott’s exacting standards. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn, develop their culinary skills, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Job Responsibility
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure all food is prepared in line with health and safety regulations and Marriott’s hygiene standards
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen duties and maintain cleanliness and organisation in your work area
Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and freshness of ingredients
Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of dishes
Contribute ideas and enthusiasm to help enhance menus and food presentation
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe kitchen environment
Requirements
Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential
enthusiasm and willingness to learn are crucial
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Ability to work well within a team and under pressure
Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as required
Passion for food and commitment to developing culinary skills
