We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Commis Chef - Bank at Rosebery Manor Care Home in Epsom.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks
Work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme
Support all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained
Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements
Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes
Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs
Requirements:
Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent
Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience
Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents
Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
