Job Description:

As a Commis Chef in the Staff Cafeteria, you will support the preparation, service, and presentation of daily meals for hotel employees. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure service runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The role also includes practical service support such as buffet set up, replenishment, and clearing within a collaborative kitchen environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of daily staff meals using fresh ingredients
  • Set up, replenish, and maintain the staff cafeteria buffet before and during service
  • Ensure food is presented attractively and served on time
  • Clear dishes from seating areas and maintain clean service spaces
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with HACCP guidelines
  • Support senior chefs with day to day kitchen operations
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively with colleagues across the hotel

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen or relevant culinary training
  • Interest in producing simple, nutritious, and well executed food
  • Ability to work efficiently in a structured, fast paced environment
  • Positive attitude and strong team ethic
