Job Responsibility:
Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods as directed by senior chefs
Support with mise en place for daily service and special events
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
Follow instructions precisely and contribute to the smooth running of the pastry section
Adhere strictly to hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety regulations, including COSHH protocols and company standards
Ensure all tools and work areas are clean and sanitised before, during, and after service
Assist with the organisation and restocking of ingredients and materials
Work collaboratively with the pastry team, showing initiative and willingness to learn
Maintain professional appearance, following uniform and grooming guidelines at all times
Embrace opportunities for training and development within the pastry kitchen
Requirements:
A recognised culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or Patisserie)
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert preparation
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or equivalent)
Ability to follow recipes and instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
A genuine passion for pastry with a willingness to learn and develop within a professional kitchen
