We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Commis 2 to join our culinary team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Commis 2, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes whilst adhering to food safety standards.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef's instructions
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
Support in inventory management and stock rotation
Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
Participate in kitchen team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively during peak hours
Requirements:
Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting
Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Valid food safety certification
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Strong teamwork and communication abilities
Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is desirable
Basic English language skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
