Job Description:

Commercial Team Leader position at IKEA's first physical Customer Meeting Point in Pune, responsible for optimizing the shopping experience, leading a team, and driving commercial performance in a multichannel retail environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, inspire and motivate your team to optimize the IKEA shopping experience
  • Secure satisfied customers and increase sales
  • Serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist and leader in life at home
  • Lead by example every day on the shop floor, supporting, challenging and coaching co-workers
  • Ensure shop is in excellent shape as new and fully stocked with four merchandising basics in place (priced, clean, well assembled and available)
  • Present IKEA product range in ways that inspire and satisfy customers
  • Take responsibility for department goals and ensure action plan is in place
  • Act quickly on commercial opportunities, changing availability of products and customer feedback
  • Actively sales steer to store top-selling and prioritised products
  • Secure strong implementation of IKEA long-term priorities and local market relevance
  • Execute meaningful actions based on key performance indicator analysis
  • Promote IKEA social and environmental commitment and sustainability
  • Recruit, onboard & develop team members and their talent
  • Responsible for securing Fulfilment Operations activities like goods receiving, replenishment, customer handout and reverse flow

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with a background in Sales and in leading a group of people
  • Business-minded and result-driven with a customer focus
  • Experience of working in a customer- and commercial-oriented business
  • Experience of actively selling through understanding customers and their needs
  • Open to change/highly flexible
  • Ability to work together in a team
  • Ability to make quick decisions and take personal initiatives
  • Ability to make things happen, priorities and make decisions by championing flexibility, speed, and simplicity
  • Ability to organize and prioritize different tasks and processes and your own work to make efficient use of the time available with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and to create a high commercial performance
  • Ability to follow up and measure performance of output and capture learnings to improve planning and performance moving forward
  • Clear and proven ability to meet and exceed customers' demands and thereby sell more
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Understanding and active use of IKEA Manuals, Mandatories, Concept Review and Topic Review check lists
  • Deep knowledge of Merchandising principals, Sales techniques, Sales steering, sales channels, sales location management/sales space capacity, efficient replenishment, IKEA product range, including service products, range presentation, range cycles, Data Analytics, Sales KPIs and P&L
  • Knowledge about competitors, your local market and services
