Job Description:

The role is to optimize the IKEA shopping experience in your store to ensure satisfied customers and increased sales. It involves leading, inspiring, and motivating the team using IKEA tools and knowledge of the product range, services, local market, and customer base. This includes achieving efficient operations, inspiring home furnishing solutions, balancing commercial and operational goals, and securing a seamless shopping experience for customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead by example every day, supporting, challenging and coaching co-workers
  • Focus on putting the customer first in everything you do within the store
  • Ensure your shop is in excellent shape as new and fully stocked
  • Present the IKEA product range in ways that inspire and satisfy customers in every touch point
  • Take responsibility for your department goals and ensure your action plan is in place and communicated clearly
  • Follow up and take actions accordingly by using proven solutions, good examples, Vetlanda and toolbox
  • Define your individual contribution and goals for delivering the store plan
  • Proactively find business opportunities and act on them to maximise sales
  • Take responsibility for your department goals in every channel and secure alignment to country priorities
  • Act quickly on commercial opportunities (seasonality, vitality, PCD), changing availability of products and customer feedback
  • Actively sales steer to your store top-selling and prioritised products
  • Ensure a strong implementation of IKEA long-term priorities and local market relevance
  • Execute meaningful actions based on KPI analysis
  • Promote the IKEA social and environmental commitment and contribute to sustainability
  • Work with your team to ensure competent colleagues are in place to secure the best customer experience
  • Recruit, onboard and develop your team and ensure succession planning
  • Be an active player in working on sustainability initiatives with the team

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with a background in Sales and in leading a group of people
  • Business-minded and result-driven with a customer focus
  • Experience of working in a customer- and commercial-oriented business
  • Experience of actively selling through understanding customers and their needs
  • Open to change/highly flexible
  • Ability to work together in a team
  • Ability to make quick decisions and take personal initiatives
  • Ability to make things happen, priorities and make decisions by championing flexibility, speed, and simplicity
  • Ability to organize and prioritize different tasks and processes and your own work to make efficient use of the time available, with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and to create a high commercial performance
  • Ability to follow up and measure performance of output and capture learnings to improve planning and performance moving forward
  • Clear and proven ability to meet and exceed customers’ demands and thereby sell more
  • Already identified as a future talent
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Understanding and active use of IKEA Manuals, Mandatories, Concept Review and Topic Review check lists
  • Deep knowledge of Merchandising principals, Sales techniques, Sales steering, sales channels, sales location management/sales space capacity, efficient replenishment, IKEA product range, including service products, range presentation, range cycles, Data Analytics, Sales KPIs and P&L
  • Knowledge about competitors, your local market and services
