Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Surveyor to join Crocus Homes and play a pivotal role in managing, overseeing and optimising the financial and contractual elements of our projects. This is a key position within the business, ensuring our developments are delivered within budget while maintaining the high standards of quality we are known for. As a Commercial Surveyor, you will take ownership of cost control, contractual management and financial monitoring across multiple residential projects. Your expertise will help us drive cost efficiency, strengthen commercial performance and ensure full compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and contract administration for assigned projects
  • Negotiate and award supplier and subcontractor agreements
  • Oversee orders, payments and variations through our COINS payment system
  • Continuously monitor expenditure to ensure projects remain financially on track
  • Regular reporting providing commercial insight that supports wider business decision‑making
  • Regular travel to development sites and our Head Office

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) degree in a construction‑related discipline
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience operating at a senior level in financial cost management
  • Demonstrable expertise in contract management and delivering residential projects for a housebuilder
  • Experience using COINS is essential
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent negotiation capability
  • Ability to interpret and manage financial data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to plan ahead, mitigate commercial risk, and proactively find solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Confidence in working to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
