Meta's Infrastructure Supply Chain Engineering team is responsible for securing and scaling technologies that power Meta's AI, data center, and cloud infrastructure at a global scale. As a principal-level technical sourcing leader for Memory and Storage, you will define and drive commodity strategies across memory, flash, and storage systems that underpin Meta's most critical infrastructure investments. You will operate at the intersection of technology roadmap development, supplier strategy, and commercial execution, partnering with hardware engineering, capacity planning, and finance to shape how Meta sources and deploys next-generation compute and storage solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Define and own long-range commodity strategies for DRAM, NAND flash, SSDs, and HDD storage systems across Meta's global data center infrastructure
Lead executive-level supplier relationships with memory and storage OEMs, ODMs, and component manufacturers, influencing product roadmaps, allocation commitments, and commercial terms
Develop total cost of ownership models and should-cost frameworks for memory and storage hardware to inform sourcing decisions, and capital planning
Drive complex, multi-year contract negotiations including supply agreements, pricing structures, capacity reservations, and technology co-development arrangements
Partner with hardware engineering and infrastructure research teams to align supplier technology roadmaps with Meta's compute and storage architecture requirements
Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives spanning capacity planning, supply risk management, and supplier qualification for new compute and storage platforms
Conduct supplier business reviews and performance assessments to monitor delivery, quality, and technology commitments across the compute and storage supply base
Identify and develop alternative sources of supply to mitigate concentration risk and improve supply chain resilience for critical compute and storage commodities
Provide commodity market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform infrastructure investment decisions and technology transition planning
Collaborate with finance, legal, and capacity planning teams to align sourcing strategies with capital expenditure forecasts and infrastructure deployment timelines
Requirements:
12+ years of experience in technical sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain engineering within the data center, semiconductor, or enterprise compute and storage industries
Experience developing and executing multi-year commodity strategies for categories such as CPUs, GPUs, AI accelerators, DRAM, NAND, SSDs, or storage systems
Experience leading complex commercial negotiations with OEMs, ODMs, or component manufacturers including multi-year supply agreements and technology co-development arrangements
Experience applying total cost of ownership and should-cost modeling methodologies to compute or storage hardware sourcing decisions
Experience partnering with hardware engineering or infrastructure research teams to align supplier technology roadmaps with internal architecture requirements
Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments requiring independent judgment across commercial, technical, and strategic dimensions
Nice to have:
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Experience sourcing memory and storage hardware in a hyperscaler or large-scale data center environment
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes, memory technology generations, or storage architecture trade-offs relevant to data center infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Experience briefing executive leadership on commodity market dynamics, supply risk, and strategic sourcing recommendations
Experience managing supply chain risk and developing multi-source strategies for constrained or sole-sourced compute and storage commodities
