Job Description

Based out of Air Warfare Systems Program Office (AWSPO), the Commercial Services Support Manager is responsible for administrative and commercial tasks within an integrated workforce. They will liaise with stakeholders of all levels, building good working relationships and providing a point of contact for all commercial enquiries. This position supports commercial activities across the capability lifecycle, including procurement planning, tendering, contract formation, management and closure, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy. Providing commercial advice across procurement, legal, financial and technical areas, supporting the development of key documentation and strategies, collaborating with CASG stakeholders, and contributing to team capability through mentoring and guidance. This role also supports governance activities, including planning documentation, risk assessments and probity requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver contract development activities in accordance with CASG policy and within required time frames
  • Lead and support commercial activities across the full capability lifecycle, from procurement planning to contract closure
  • Collaborate with key CASG stakeholders, including MPB, FIS, CFA, DFG and Defence Legal
  • Undertake research and provide advice on commercial, legal, technical and policy matters
  • Mentor and support Contract Management and Contract Development Officers to build team capability
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to achieve outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with policy requirements and manage commercial risks and performance
  • Deliver ACS Branch tasks efficiently and within expected time frames
  • Provide timely, accurate and high-quality support to Executive Leadership

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Procurement, Contract Management, Finance, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial, procurement or contract management within a complex, regulated environment
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships across diverse groups
  • Strong understanding of communication flows, resource management, priorities and workflows to achieve business outcomes
  • Ability to identify, assess and manage commercial risks, including those related to contract development, supplier performance and compliance
  • Experience applying procurement frameworks, policies and governance requirements (Defence/CASG experience highly regarded)
