As a Commercial Refrigeration Technician, you will power up, test, and commission new systems so they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably for the long term. You’ll work independently in the field and collaborate closely with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers to deliver a clean, on-time turnover. You’ll be hands-on with rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and associated control systems for commercial refrigeration installations.
Job Responsibility:
Power up and commission new commercial refrigeration systems
Program setpoints and verify functionality for control systems (e.g., Emerson, CPC, Danfoss)
Perform pressure and leak tests, electrical checks, and refrigerant charge adjustments
Troubleshoot and resolve start-up issues across electrical, piping, and mechanical components
Verify systems meet manufacturer specifications and project requirements prior to turnover
Document start-up conditions, commissioning data, and punch-list items
Collaborate with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers
Facilitate a smooth transition to service and maintenance teams
Requirements:
2+ years of commercial refrigeration installation, service, or start-up experience
Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration, condensers, evaporators, and controls
Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat, subcooling, airflow, and refrigerant charge
Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
EPA 608 Certification (required)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Willingness to travel regionally to job sites (per diem provided)
