Robert Half is looking for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal on a long-term contract basis supporting one of our Twin Cities clients. This role is 100% remote with a candidate preferred to be in Minnesota or the Midwest. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing real estate loan files, overseeing due diligence, and ensuring readiness for closing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly detail-oriented, and has extensive experience working on lender-side transactions.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee real estate loan files from the issuance of term sheets through closing preparation
Review title commitments, address exceptions, and facilitate final title policy issuance
Coordinate and evaluate appraisals to ensure compliance with lender guidelines and engagement terms
Manage environmental reviews, surveys, and other third-party due diligence requirements
Incorporate investor and secondary market provisions into standard loan documentation
Collaborate with appraisers, title companies, and internal teams to ensure deadlines are met
Partner with the internal closer to transfer files and align on final closing steps
Provide training and guidance to enhance familiarity with commercial real estate procedures
Track progress on transactions and provide regular updates to stakeholders
Maintain organized documentation and promptly address any discrepancies or risks
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegal, with lender-side expertise
Proven ability to review and resolve title commitments and work effectively with title companies
Solid experience evaluating commercial appraisals for compliance purposes
Familiarity with environmental reports, surveys, and real estate due diligence processes
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions independently
Strong communication and decision-making abilities
Nice to have:
Experience in agricultural or rural lending is preferred but not required
Background in supporting lenders or financial services entities, with multi-state title knowledge a plus
