Job Description

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a rapidly growing real estate developer and investment management company located in downtown Chicago who is seeking to hire a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal with 5-10+ years of commercial real estate transaction experience to join their in-house legal team. The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will assist attorneys in handling a broad range of commercial real estate transactions in connection with acquisitions, leases, development projects, dispositions, and financing matters, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate-related agreements.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and maintain transaction summaries and checklists
  • Review title and survey on proposed transactions, together with zoning reports and other due diligence items, as well as coordinate with the vendors providing such services
  • Assist attorneys with the preparing closing documents and facilitation of the closing process for both acquisition and loan transactions
  • Prepare closing binders and maintaining an electronic database of closing & due diligence files
  • Prepare and review purchase and sale agreements, lease, and loan document abstracts
  • Coordinate earnest money deposits and other related matters with escrow agents
  • Prepare leases and loan abstracts
  • Assist with the formation, management, and dissolution of entities and maintaining a corporate record keeping database
  • Review and prepare organizational and authority documentation, including authorizing resolutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactions
  • Experience preparing and reviewing real estate-related agreements
  • Demonstrate solid experience in real estate law, including acquisitions, dispositions, and contract matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience conducting due diligence for complex real estate transactions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse team
