Job Description:

An established client is seeking a qualified Commercial Plumber with a Water Hygiene background to join their team on a large R&D commercial site in Oxford.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform plumbing maintenance, minor mechanical tasks, and extensive water hygiene duties, including: Temperature monitoring, showerhead descales, and TMV servicing
  • Cold water storage tank & cooling tower cleans/disinfections
  • LTHW, cooling system, and steam boiler testing/analysis
  • Water sampling, dosing (inhibitor/biocide), and softener servicing
  • General plumbing remedial works and small project installations

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum) plus relevant water hygiene knowledge
  • Solid experience in the technical testing and analysis duties listed above
  • Ability to pass a DBS check

  • Cuts and threads pipe
  • Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals and nonmetals
  • Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calks joints
  • Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking
  • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures
  • May weld to steel structural members
