Proactively develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospective offtakers, originating high-quality PPA opportunities aligned with strategic priorities
Drive quantitative analyses to determine pricing and risk exposure in coordination with Energy Management, M&A, and Business Development teams to align on deal structuring, valuation, and project readiness for FID
Prepare commercial materials to effectively showcase EDP projects to clients
Lead end-to-end PPA negotiations, in coordination with Legal, reviewing term sheets and contracts with aim to structure commercially viable agreements that balance risk, return, and bankability
Define and articulate key commercial positions (pricing, tenor, risk allocation, credit structure), preparing clear negotiation strategies and approval materials for senior stakeholders
Drive contract execution processes with clear timelines and deliverables while managing internal workstreams across multiple functions
Prepare internal approval papers ensuring compliance with company standards
Facilitate effective communication between cross-functional stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks
Track project lifecycles (development, FID, COD), dependencies and key milestones in order to anticipate their impact on commercial negotiations
Develop in-depth understanding of remuneration mechanisms, contract structuring, and internal benchmark positions in PPAs
Monitor market trends and intelligence on PPA execution
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field
advanced degree preferred
5 - 10 years of relevant experience in commercial origination, business development, or transaction roles within energy, renewables, or infrastructure sectors
Demonstrated track record in originating, structuring, and closing complex PPA or energy-related transactions
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with ability to assess deal economics, pricing structures, and risk-return trade-offs
Deep understanding of electricity markets, regulatory frameworks, and PPA contract structures
Proven ability to lead negotiations with external counterparties and internal stakeholders
Experience working cross-functionally with legal, technical, financial, and investment teams
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including interaction with senior management and investment committees
Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and develop structured, strategic approaches to complex commercial challenges
