Our client is a global player in the energy sector and recruiting for a Commercial Operator - Freight, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient running of physical assets while ensuring timely delivery of fuel (crude oil, natural gas, and chemical feedstocks) to customers worldwide.

Job Responsibility

  • Support Freight Trading Strategy for the Time-Charter fleet to maximize value while ensuring safe operations
  • Conduct freight operational activities promptly, meeting all charter party contract obligations
  • Identify and maximize optionality within charter party agreements, including laycan and demurrage rates
  • Ensure efficient operation of time-chartered vessels, including voyage orders and cargo tank preparation
  • Optimize bunker procurement in collaboration with freight traders
  • Support fleet performance initiatives to reduce bunker consumption
  • Ensure service provider appointments comply with Shell policies for vessel turnaround
  • Liaise with Demurrage & Finance teams to maximize claims and ensure timely settlements
  • Identify and develop process improvement areas in freight activities
  • Utilize in-house tools for managing ship operations and records

Requirements

  • Established experience in tanker fleets and handling commercial freight movements
  • Ability to troubleshoot process issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder needs
  • Strong analytical skills to simplify complex problems
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multinational, and cross-cultural teams
  • Fluency in English
  • Relevant experience Commercial freight Operations / tankers sailing experience required
